You MUST get here early to take full advantage of all the yummy goodness Fultondale Bakery has to offer!!! I arrived at a little after 1:00 pm on a Saturday afternoon and they were already down to only a few donut twists and a few mini cake donuts. I got one of each and both were the perfect treat! Kathie , who happened to be the owner Julie's sister assisted me - she was extremely nice and engaging! She even threw in a complementary donut! She also informed me that I could call in to request they hold any of their baked goods for pick -up. I think this is a great way to gain new customers and to keep existing ones! I can certainly see why Fultondale Bakery is a well known staple in the area. It has a home style & cozy feel to it , which is very welcoming. The interior isn't very big but limited seating is available. The pricing menu is posted for all to see and the display cases are well lighted to show off all the yummy sweets! This was my first time visiting this bakery but it certainly won't be my last! I told the owner I would return and I plan on visiting again real soon!

Yes, this place gets a 5 for sure. I know I should not tread near this place but how can you resist. Their pastry's are to the best in the world. I try to make my way out at least once a month. My favorite is the Cinnamon roll, its one of the best options on the menu. Best of all, the dough is light and fluffy and not heavy and hard. Its kinda like sweet treats for the GODS (so light, fluffy and melt in your mouth good ). I always enjoy my experiences here and look foward to my next visit.

So I've heard great things about this place so needless to say I've been dying to get here. I've actually tried a cinnamon roll that they sell in a gas station and it's hands down the best I've had so far. It was only 2 maple donuts left and I said what they heck I will take both. I was totally expecting a semi dry just ok donut but OH NO this was absolutely spectacular. It tastes like it was just made. I can't wait to go back and try a fresh one but you guys please check this hidden gem out because it's so worth it.

The Fultondale Bakery is a cute little "always been there" sort of shop sitting on US 31 just below the Walker Chapel Road intersection. The first time I stopped in there was a steady stream of people heading in, selecting their morning pastry, and then continuing on to work. Prominently posted on the door is their stance on cell phones (using a cell phone inside = no service) and credit cards (payment accepted by cash or check only). However, after leaving your phone in the car or switching it to silent and refraining from checking it while in the shop, its absence is quickly forgotten by the array of doughnuts and pastries that greet you as you walk in the door. From plain cake to glazed cake to maple-iced-with-walnuts cake to cream-filled yeast to chocolate-iced custard-filed eclairs to enormous-and-sticky cinnamon rolls, the selection is staggering. Once you pull yourself together, the staff is patiently waiting to help you on your way to a delicious, freshly baked morning sugar rush. Fultondale Bakery opens at 5am Tuesday through Friday and 6am on Saturday (closed Sundays and Mondays), and once the doughnuts are gone, they're gone--so get there early to find the best variety to choose from!
